Why didn't I get reminded about something?
Check three things: notifications are switched on in Preferences, the item wasn't private with someone else as the only audience, and, for a to-do, that it actually has a due date, since reminders are calculated from it.
Why can't I see an event or to-do someone else can?
It's almost always privacy: it's been marked private and you're not one of the people it's shared with. See Privacy & sharing for how that works.
My invite code isn't working
Codes are rotated by admins if a family suspects theirs has leaked. Ask whoever gave you the code to check the current one on their Family tab.
I left a family by accident. Can I get back in?
Yes. Your login still exists. Ask an admin for the current invite code and join again.
Why does my partner's app look slightly different from mine?
Admins see a few extra controls (like removing members, deleting the family, and rotating the invite code) that members don't.
Can an admin see my private items?
No. Being an admin manages the family and its members, not access to anyone's private events or items.
Can I add a whole shopping list at once instead of item by item?
Yes, use “📋 Paste list” on the Shopping tab. Paste in your list (one item per line) and FamKnit adds them all, suggesting a category for each automatically.
Can I add an online shop like Amazon to my shopping list?
Yes, from “Manage shops” on the Shopping tab, choose “Online shop” as the type and add its website. The shop group then shows an “Open ↗” link straight to the site.
