Check three things: notifications are switched on in Preferences, the item wasn't private with someone else as the only audience, and, for a to-do, that it actually has a due date, since reminders are calculated from it.

It's almost always privacy: it's been marked private and you're not one of the people it's shared with. See Privacy & sharing for how that works.

Codes are rotated by admins if a family suspects theirs has leaked. Ask whoever gave you the code to check the current one on their Family tab.

Yes. Your login still exists. Ask an admin for the current invite code and join again.

Admins see a few extra controls (like removing members, deleting the family, and rotating the invite code) that members don't.

No. Being an admin manages the family and its members, not access to anyone's private events or items. The one exception is a teen (a child with their own login): the teen's responsible adults can see the teen's private items, and the teen is told this.

Yes. An admin taps “Give a login” on the child's row in the Family tab and enters the email they will use. They keep everything already tagged to them, get their own reminders, and can add their own events, to-dos and shopping items, but cannot manage the family. FamKnit does not store birthdays, so the admin must tick a box confirming the child is 13 or over and that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, or have their permission, and should not give a login to a child under 13.

Things you mark private are hidden from the rest of the family, but your responsible adults (every adult, unless an admin narrowed it) can still see them and are reminded of your events. You are told this in your invite and on every Private control.

The family is deleted, because a teen cannot run a family on their own. Your teen is emailed that it closed, is not signed out, and keeps their login, so the next time they open FamKnit they can create or join a family. The confirmation names any teens who would lose access. If you want the family to continue, make a teen an adult first, from the Family tab.

An admin taps “Make adult” on their row in the Family tab and confirms. Their private items become fully private, and it cannot be undone. Nothing changes automatically, so it is always your decision.

Yes, use “📋 Paste list” on the Shopping tab. Paste in your list (one item per line) and FamKnit adds them all, suggesting a category for each automatically. Put a shop's name on its own line to send every item below it to that shop.

Yes, from “Manage shops” on the Shopping tab, choose “Online shop” as the type and add its website. The shop group then shows an “Open ↗” link straight to the site.
